What vegan means for brushes
Many vegan brushes replace animal bristles with plastic. QUOALA works instead with tampico, a firm plant fibre from the agave, with rounded hornbeam pins and, on the foot file, with 3M abrasive pads. Plant-based, and still made of materials that do their job.

What we say openly
Not the whole range is vegan. Every tool on this page is labelled vegan. The paddle brush's air cushion is natural rubber, the soap bag contains a small share of elastane so it hugs the soap. We name that rather than claiming absolutes.
Frequently asked questions
Is tampico gentler than animal bristle?
No. Tampico is the firmest fibre in the range. If you want a soft brush, pig bristle or horsehair is the better choice.
Is the whole range vegan?
No. Most tools have a vegan version, and this page shows them all.
Where does tampico come from?
From the leaves of the agave, mainly from Mexico. The fibre is combed, sorted and set into the FSC wood without plastic.
