FSC®-certified wood

FSC®-certified wood

We use FSC® wood perfectly matched to its respective function, sourced from sustainable European forestry (More about FSC here).

Beechwood is extremely dense and durable – ideal for bath and hand brushes used near water. Hornbeam provides hard, antistatic wooden pins for our paddle brushes to effectively prevent flyaways (frizz).

For beard brushes, we choose exquisite pearwood: it feels warm in the hand, offers a non-slip texture, and absorbs excess beard oil.

Natural animal bristles

Natural animal bristles

Animal natural bristles, just like our own hair, are made of keratin. In hairbrushes, boar bristles distribute natural sebum all the way to the tips, ensuring visible shine.

Hog bristles hold water for luxurious lather in bath brushes, or, in short, firm form, they gently remove stubborn dirt as a craftsman's brush.

Fine horsehair, on the other hand, is perfect for gentle exfoliation and polishing of sensitive skin areas during dry brushing.

Longevity & Care

Longevity & Care

Natural materials interact with moisture. To prevent mold or bristle loss, wooden brushes must never be left in water or in a damp shower.

Shake out thoroughly after use and leave to dry in a well-ventilated place with the bristles facing downwards ("drip-dry").

If you follow these simple care instructions and oil the FSC wood occasionally, you will be rewarded with extremely durable brushes and a beautiful patina that plastic can never achieve.

FAQ

Many workshop brushes quickly slip out of your hand. Our tool is designed as a compact wooden block. The deep grip recesses on the sides guarantee maximum control and perfect pressure build-up, even with slippery hands.

Rinse them thoroughly with warm water and place them upright in a dry place. Caution: Strong chemical solvents attack natural bristles more quickly than plastic.

Due to the very short cut, the bristles lose their flexibility and become extremely stiff. This creates massive resistance that mercilessly scrapes grease and oil out of the hand grooves.

No. That's the great advantage of natural bristles: although they clean extremely effectively due to their short cut, they do not cut the sensitive skin surface like sharp nylon fibers.
