FSC®-certified wood

FSC®-certified wood

We use FSC® wood perfectly matched to its respective function, sourced from sustainable European forestry (More about FSC here).

Beechwood is extremely dense and durable – ideal for bath and hand brushes used near water. Hornbeam provides hard, antistatic wooden pins for our paddle brushes to effectively prevent flyaways (frizz).

For beard brushes, we choose exquisite pearwood: it feels warm in the hand, offers a non-slip texture, and absorbs excess beard oil.

Natural animal bristles

Natural animal bristles

Animal natural bristles, just like our own hair, are made of keratin. In hairbrushes, boar bristles distribute natural sebum all the way to the tips, ensuring visible shine.

Hog bristles hold water for luxurious lather in bath brushes, or, in short, firm form, they gently remove stubborn dirt as a craftsman's brush.

Fine horsehair, on the other hand, is perfect for gentle exfoliation and polishing of sensitive skin areas during dry brushing.

Longevity & Care

Longevity & Care

Natural materials interact with moisture. To prevent mold or bristle loss, wooden brushes should never be left in water or a damp shower.

After use, shake them out thoroughly and always let them drip-dry with the bristles facing down in a well-ventilated area.

Those who follow these simple care instructions and occasionally oil the FSC wood will be rewarded with extremely durable brushes and a beautiful patina that plastic can never achieve.

FAQ

Pearwood has an extremely fine, warm feel and is slightly open-pored. If you use beard oil, the exquisite wood absorbs excess oil – this ensures that the handle doesn't become slippery over time but always fits perfectly and securely in your hand.

Yes! The firm-elastic boar bristles distribute your natural sebum and applied beard oils evenly from root to tip. At the same time, the facial skin is massaged, which reduces itching.

For short to medium-length beards, the compact size (9.5 cm) is absolutely ideal and perfectly navigable. For an extremely long or very bushy full beard, you might need a larger brush.

Regularly remove hair with a comb. Running water and soap should be avoided, as the pear wood will swell. If necessary, wipe the bristles dry or with minimal moisture.
