FSC®-certified wood

FSC®-certified wood

We use FSC® wood perfectly matched to its respective function, sourced from sustainable European forestry (More about FSC here).

Beechwood is extremely dense and durable – ideal for bath and hand brushes used near water. Hornbeam provides hard, antistatic wooden pins for our paddle brushes to effectively prevent flyaways (frizz).

For beard brushes, we choose exquisite pearwood: it feels warm in the hand, offers a non-slip texture, and absorbs excess beard oil.

Animal bristles

Animal bristles

Just like our own hair, natural animal bristles are made of keratin. In hairbrushes, boar bristles distribute natural sebum all the way to the tips, ensuring visible shine.

Hog bristles hold water for luxurious lather in bath brushes, or, in short, stiff form, they gently remove stubborn dirt as a craftsman's brush.

Fine horsehair, on the other hand, is perfect for gentle exfoliation and polishing of sensitive skin areas during dry brushing.

Elastic bands

Elastic bands

For the hand loops of our bath and body brushes, we deliberately choose a durable elastane blended fabric.

The dogmatic "100% plastic-free" trend often calls for pure cotton or leather - but these materials wear out when wet, rot or become brittle.

Our minimal, flexible elastane content guarantees that the brush clings securely to the back of the hand, even with slippery, soapy hands. This maximizes application safety and protects the tool from premature wear.

Longevity & Care

Longevity & Care

Natural materials interact with moisture. To prevent mold or bristle loss, wooden brushes must never be left in water or in a damp shower.

Shake out thoroughly after use and leave to dry in a well-ventilated place with the bristles facing downwards ("drip-dry").

If you follow these simple care instructions and oil the FSC wood occasionally, you will be rewarded with extremely durable brushes and a beautiful patina that plastic can never achieve.

FAQ

Yes. The curved beechwood handle is angled so that you can reach every spot on your back without dislocating your shoulder. The head is also completely removable.

No. Pure cotton straps often fray or stretch out excessively when wet. We use a fabric with a small amount of elastane. This way, you'll always have full control when using the removed brush head, even with soapy hands.

Wooden brushes should never be left in water, as they may swell or mold. Thanks to the cotton cord, you can hang the brush to air dry hygienically after thoroughly shaking out the excess water ("Drip-Dry").

No. The long-cut boar bristles are our softest option. They provide gentle exfoliation, yield softly under pressure, and lather shower gel exceptionally well.

This is normal for untreated natural products. Lather the bristles thoroughly with your shower gel the first time you use it, rinse them with hot water, and hang them to dry. The smell will dissipate quickly.
