On the contrary: The rounded hornbeam pins are set in a flexible natural rubber air cushion. If a pin encounters a knot, the cushion gently yields. This allows for completely pain-free detangling.

What are the pins made of, and do they feel comfortable on the scalp?

The pins are turned from hard hornbeam and rounded at the tip. The natural rubber cushion gives as you brush, so the pins glide gently over the scalp.

May I take the paddle brush into the shower?

No. Do not run it under a stream of water. The air hole of the natural rubber cushion would fill with water, which could cause mold to grow inside the brush. It is perfect after the shower.

Do the wooden dowels break off easily?

No. For the sticks, we use extremely hard FSC hornbeam (not soft bamboo, which often splinters). They are extremely robust and very durable.

Really pleased with this brush. Great quality and my hair looks so much better. Just one small note – I found the handle slightly thicker than expected. Doesn't affect performance though.
